YOHJI YAMAMOTO SS 2012 show

Yohji Yamamoto did today what he does better: asymmetrical, graphical silhouettes, superposition of fabrics and lengths. But with some news.
We weren't in the concrete jungle any more but in a charming field, maybe in Normandy, with Marie Antoinette-esque dresses and now here we are at Ascot with fabulous hats.
A special mention for the final look, when a model dressed in a suit led another model in a wedding dress as a couple heading to the Aisle.

THE RULE BREAKERS - Gareth Pugh and Nicola Formichetti

Gareth Pugh SS 2012 show

Mugler SS 2012 show

I felt in love with the Mugler and Gareth Pugh collections yesterday. Clothes were so well cut, body-conscious and innovative. A breath of fresh air in a season too conservative.
We need to see alien on catwalk to still believe that fashion is before all a beautiful fairy tail

VOGUE PARIS OCTOBER ISSUE

I'm more and more puzzled by Vogue Paris.
After too many BCBG issues, with unbearable bohème looks, here it comes the sassy again. So obvious, so first degree.  The only thing I liked was the cover (the dress is from Atelier Versace, if you're wondering):

The central spread called "Fatale" (what original name!) featuring Sasha Pivovarova and phographed by Mert&Marcus is a mix of colored and black&white pictures that seem putted there by mistake.
The lovely Sasha smokes in most of them half-naked, with that wet-hair look as she has just walked out of her shower. Really nothing to say about the styling, inconsistent and once again, obvious.

The magazine goes on with a second editorial by Emmanuelle Alt featuring Isabeli Fontana on the same deceiving cheap sexy style and another spread styled by Joe McKenna and photographed by David Sims,
dark, masculine, set in an English countryside that looks like a dusty cemetery. I can't tell you how depressing it is.
I'll save from the fire only the accessories spread by Marie Chaix, "Une femme pressée".
Jourdan Dunn looks beautiful on the pictures (photography Hans Feurer) and the styling is a mix of wearable and high fashion.

GOD SAVE THE BRITISH DESIGNERS

Antonio Berardi

Christopher Kane

Erdem

Mark Fast

Paul Smith

British designers surprised me showing the best collections so far, perfectly cut, discrete and glamorous.
Next season, I want to be their lady, so effortlessly flawless, jumping to a party garden to another.

LOOK OF THE DAY

Rodarte SS 2012 Show

I literally felt in love with the Rodarte collection, this season. It was dreamy, body-conscious and full of lightness. Maybe the flower prints were a bit too obvious (touristic gadgets from the Van Gogh museum) but the dresses were so fabulously cut to make you forget about the flowers.
