BEST USE OF A CELINE BLOUSE: Kanye West VS Gaia Repossi

To me, the winner is Kanye West
(here performing at Coachella)

SUMMER SPIRIT: ISABELI FONTANA FOR SPANISH VOGUE

Isabeli Fontana on the cover of the latest Spanish Vogue (May), wearing an Emilio Pucci dress and a Little Doe hat, photographed by Greg Kadel and styled by Katie Mossman.

This picture sums perfectly the spirit of the upcoming summer.

Everything's there: the capeline, the sexy '70s inspired dress, the stare...

Isabeli looks so comfortable and strong in that dress that she really makes me want to wear it.
(Anyway, that Pucci frock has been one of my season favorites since the beginning.
Julia Restoin Roitfeld wore the runway sparky blue version months ago)

MOST OVERSEEN TREND: COLOR-BLOCK

I don't know about you, but I start getting sick of the color-block.
When I saw it for the first time on the runways back in February, it looked fresh and joyful, but
by now, it seems old and boring more than a black total-look.
All the magazines have done editorials and editorials about the so-called color-block and
even the Happy Few around the globe have elected this sparky match of bright colors as their red carpet uniform.
With very different results:

- Good

Camilla Belle in Gucci.
Well, being that beautiful, with a runway outfit
it's almost impossible to do wrong

Harley Viera-Newton in Dior
Violet and red: have you ever thought that they could actually work together?

- Not that bad

Virginie and Claire Clarins
I usually don't like their style, but here there's something good

Rachel Roy, left
The intention was good, but the result... hum...
She looks like a fashion victim

Liya Kebede and Karen Elson, in Marc Jacobs
Almost right, but the coats! They really disturb the picture

- So Wrong

What happened to Lou Doillon, here in Chanel?
I guess she really didn't want to go out, that evening:
She looks like a grandma, with that long dress,
the long coat and the silver shoes!
(if you are neither Lady Gaga nor a Drag Queen,
there's no reason for you to wear silver shoes)

VIRTUAL SHOPPING

Recently, having to work until late hours very often, I've developed the habit to shop on internet, mostly because I don't have any other choice if I want to treat myself with something new, but also because thanks to the web I can reach all those amazing brands that usually you don't find in Paris (we have very poor variety, around here).

Here a little selection of my favorite shoes for SS.

Obviously, I haven't bought all of them (my Visa has shown me no mercy), so my internet shopping has been "virtual" in different ways. I've switched from window to laptop shopping.

IN THE NEED OF... A CAPELINE

It's Marc Jacobs' fault.

This illogical need I have now to own a capeline, I mean. Those cute, bohemian, '70s hats seen on his runway last February.

I didn't like the idea very much back then, but now that summer's approaching, I want ones badly.

After a little investigation, Maison Michel turned out to make the best capelines around.

But I like also Rodarte for Opening Ceremony, in a perfect Palm Springs style.
